In the Garden at Big River Farm

Big River Farm’s garden was so beautiful this summer, that I was inspired by the sunflowers to go back to my roots- painting in watercolor. I started “en plein aire”- live outside in the garden, sketching and playing with colors, then segued into the studio.

Sometimes I go to the Mendocino Art Center for studio time with the Artful Women, where we get together and work on our own projects in the company of wonderful artists.

Being MINDFUL in art, I focused on the most impressive pollinators in the garden, my sunflowers. As I revisit the garden theme, I will explore each pollinator- native and cultivated- as subjects of my various art techniques.
